Jo Ann Butcher Bailey, 79, of Fairmont, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday (June 21, 2016) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born in Fairmont, on July 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Garfield and Katie Butcher.
She was a 1954 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She was an avid animal lover. Jo Ann raised many prize-winning cats over the years. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Thomas Bailey; her son, David Glover of Fairmont; two brothers, Kenneth Butcher of Fairmont and Glen Butcher and his wife Sandy of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Butcher and Jerry Butcher; and two sisters, Beatrice Boyce and Betty Shaver.
Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Iria Timmins officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
