Mr. James Alexander Taylor Jr., of Meadows Place, Texas, formerly of Fairmont, born on March 23, 1935 in Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away at age 83 on April 30, 2018, in Meadows Place, Texas.
James graduated from Fairmont State University in 1958 and also attended West Virginia University. He was in the electronics industry at Berg Electronics as a salesman and sales manager, and later was a sales trainer and salesman for Berg Electronics a division of E. I DuPont until retiring in 1997. James was married to Ann Yost Taylor.
He is survived by his son, James A. Taylor III "Butch" and wife Jennifer; daughter, Julie Taylor Harvey and husband Paul; brother, George Taylor and wife Janie; sisters, Carolyn Tebay and Christina Reid and husband Don; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Yost and wife Dottie; grandchildren, Drew Harvey, April Harvey, Brian Harvey, and Daniel Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Dani Taylor, Paisley Taylor, and Gracie Shiflet.
He enjoyed working with youth as a Little League coach for Highland Boys Athletic Association, and as a softball coach for Highland Girls Softball League. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Allendale, and in recent years he was a member of Elks Club. He served as president of the Berg/DuPont Pensioners Club until 2017. He maintained a lifetime love of golf and spent many hours playing with colleagues, friends and family.
A golf outing will be held in his honor at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, in July.
