James Edward Lockhart Jr., 56, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday (Dec. 8, 2017) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born in Fairmont, on Nov. 10, 1961, a son of the late James Edward Lockhart Sr. and Betty Lou (Whitecotton) Lockhart.
James was currently employed at Swanson Industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and vacationing at Myrtle Beach. He had a passion for muscle cars, classic cars and drag race cars. He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eva Marie (Leonard) Lockhart; two daughters, Jennifer Sue Scott and her husband Brad of Fairmont and Jill Marie Lockhart of Fairmont; two very special grandchildren, Logan James Scott and Ashlyn Marie Scott.
Also surviving are his brother, Jerald Lockhart; his sisters and spouses, Jeanette and Anthony Zivkovic, Juanita and Pete Price, and Jessica and Gene Goolie all of Fairmont; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Guy and Karen Leonard; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Fred and Robin Leonard, Nancy and Noah Espinoza and Brian and Sherri Tonkery; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 1-8 p.m. Monday and from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating. Interment services will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
