James Marshall "Pigpen" Halpenny, 75, of Lumberport, passed away at 11:37 a.m., Sunday (May 27, 2018) at his residence. He was born in Joetown, Dec. 22, 1942, a son of the late Charles Edward and Lenora Mae Templeton Halpenny. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Rae Thompson Halpenny whom he married March 15, 1969.
Also surviving are two children, Melissa Dawn Halpenny, Shinnston, and Jerry Allen Halpenny and his fiancé Christen, Grafton; his grandchildren, Jeremy Allen Halpenny, Lumberport, Jordan Presley Cole, Shinnston, Courtney Brooke Halpenny, Spelter; two great-grandchildren, Jace Allen Halpenny, Clarksburg, and Eliza Jayde Halpenny, Spelter.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, John Calvin Halpenny and Jerry Lee Halpenny.
Mr. Halpenny was a veteran having served with the United States Army. He retired from Robinson Run Mine with 36 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars, working outside and hunting in his younger years.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation services were provided, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
