James Albert Brooks

James Albert "Pat" Brooks, 83 of Seattle, Washington and formerly of Dakota, passed away at the Northwest Hospital in Seattle (Aug. 26, 2018).
He was born Jan. 1, 1935, a son of the late Chester M. and Marguerite Holliday Brooks.
He was a 1952 graduate of Rivesville High School and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict 1952-1955.
He worked for 20 years as a computer tech at the Safeco Insurance Co. of Seattle. Later, he would work as a computer trouble-shooter for various companies.
He is survived by a son, Steven Brooks and his wife, Sue, of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; a daughter, Teresa Kolosky of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren, Benny Kolosky and Margie Kolosky of Seattle, Washington, and Aaron Brooks and his wife Emma of Upstate New York; one great-grandchild, Eva Brooks.
Also surviving are his brothers, Chester L. Brooks of Morgantown, and Larry R. and Juanita Brooks, of Bellview; sister Linda and Michael Abruzzino, of Meredith Springs, and several nieces and nephews and two cousins, Blaine Holliday of Martinsburg and Charles Holliday of Middlebourne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Barbara Jolly Brooks; a brother, Richard P. Brooks; two sisters, Barbara Wilkerson and Jo Ellen Fink.
He will be cremated, as per his wishes. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fairmont.
