Homer Leroy "Bud" Iser, 85, of Worthington, passed away Sunday (Nov. 19, 2017) at United Hospital Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1932 in Gray, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Homer Lenwood and Rhea Estelle Everson Iser.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Louise Owens Iser, whom he married Aug. 31, 1953.
Also surviving are his daughters, Jackie Lanham and her husband, Randy of Mannington, Cheryl Thorpe and husband, Jeff of Summerville, South Carolina and Terri Atha of Fairmont; his grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter and wife Tammy, Jenny Messinger, Austin Richards and Justin Lanham; as well as his great-grandchildren, Brady and Whitney Carpenter and Gracie Messinger.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his son, Gilbert Lenwood "Lenny" Iser and his sisters, Frankline Cecil, Norma Musquiz and Jean Spicher.
Bud retired from Alcan Aluminum as a machinist with 35 years of service. He and Louise were members of the Wyatt Union Fellowship Church. Bud enjoyed hunting and working in his woodshop. He spent most of his life caring for his family and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. today at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Roy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery where Military Graveside Rights will be accorded by the U.S. Navy and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
