Grayson Neis, 43, of Idamay, died Monday (Oct. 23, 2017) at his residence.
He was born Oct. 20, 1974, in Alberta, Canada, a son of the late Philip and Mary Anne Simigan Neis.
Grayson studied culinary arts and carpentry in Canada, and was currently employed at Addivant in Morgantown. Being an outdoorsman, he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, camping, hiking and woodworking.
He loved his family very much and enjoyed activities with his boys when they visited, and spending time with his wife on weekend getaway trips. He was a wonderful and beloved husband who loved his wife and family. He was a member of the Jewel City Church in Shinnston.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Cunningham Neis; his sons, Logan and Connor Neis, of New Zealand; his stepchildren, Drue Johnson, Idamay, and Alyssa Shahan, Fairmont; a grandchild, Kynslee Shahan; his mother-in-law, Cathy Cunningham, Idamay; his father-in-law, Charlie Cunningham, Kelly Town; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Malinda Cunningham; stepsisters, Brenda Codnar and Linda Dawdy and children, all of Canada.
Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Jewel City Church, 511 Jewel City Road, Shinnston. A celebration of Grayson's life will be held at noon Friday at the church with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
