Gloria Ann Lockhart, 80, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday (Dec. 14, 2017) at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Fairmont, on Aug. 19, 1937, a daughter of the late James Henry and Bernice (Miller) Buchanan.
Gloria was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition, she retired from the West Virginia State Board of Education where she worked at RESA VII in the Fairmont office as a secretary.
She attended Trinity Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed gardening and playing the piano. She always found time to help others and loved activities and time spent with her family.
Gloria is survived by her grandson, Kenny Coombs and his wife Kayla of Fairmont; her granddaughters, Chrissy Bolyard and her husband Albert of Grafton, Jenny Butcher and her husband Tim of Fairmont, and Shelly Snyder and her husband Greg of Fairmont; and her great-grandchildren, Mikayla King, Ashleigh Stewart, Lillian Butcher, Jackson Butcher, Camden Butcher, Brooklyn Butcher, Sean Coombs, Waylon Coombs, Brandon Snyder and Emily Snyder. Also surviving is her brother, James A. Buchanan and his wife Mary of Fairmont; a nephew, Jimmy Allan Buchanan; and a niece, Dawn Murphy.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husbands, Burl Snyder and Bill Lockhart; her daughter, Kathy King; and a niece, Candi Buchanan.
Friends and family will be received from 1-8 p.m. Monday and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Fancher officiating.
