George Melvin Davis, 62, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Oct. 23, 2017).
He was born in Sacramento, California, on Oct. 6, 1955, a son of the late Thomas F. Davis, Jr.
He attended East Fairmont High School and graduated from Fairmont State University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid reader, loved music and enjoying cooking.
George loved his family and most enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah "Debbie" (Hannah) Davis; his sons, Brian Tibbs and his fiancée, Shellena Ferrell, of Fairmont and Nathaniel Patrick Davis of Fairmont; his daughter, Meghan Hannah Davis and her husband Josh Fouse of Idamay; his very special grandchildren, Sophia, Christian, Matthew, Autumn, Noah, Lydia, Allison Autumn "Audy" and Jarrod.
Also surviving are two brothers and their spouses, Stanley and Gloria Davis of California and Roger and Diane Davis of Ohio.
Interment will be held at 10 a.m. today at the West Virginia National Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
