Floyd's Story

Floyd Alexander "Alex" Walters, Jr., 45, of Fairmont, passed from this life Saturday (Oct. 22, 2016) at Mon General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Fairmont on Feb. 20, 1971 the son of the late Floyd A. and Clara Haddix Walters.
Alex was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church. Before a fall that crippled him in 2002, he worked as a mechanic at Starcher Auto for several years. He enjoyed working on his computer, making jewelry and designing and making designs to attach to boots and cowboy hats.
Mr. Walters is survived by his wife of 25 years, Michelle Newhouse Walters; his daughter, Jessica K. Walters of Springfield, Missouri; his sons, Anthony A. and Roman J. Walters both of Rivesville; his sister, Anna Mae Dunkle of North Carolina; one uncle, Charles Haddix of Levels; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half sister, Barbara Branno and several aunts and uncles.
Michelle has requested that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral costs: Frey Home For Funerals, P.O. Box 895, Fairmont, WV 26555.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St. Services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Nuzum Cemetery.
