Elma Yvonne Wright, 85, passed away on Thursday (Dec. 21, 2017) at the Tygart Center of Fairmont, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Marion County, on Feb. 21, 1932, the daughter of the late George McDonald and Helen Parks McDonald.
Yvonne had worked as a sales associate at G.C. Murphy, Murphy Mart, Ames and retired from Walmart. She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God for more than 40 years.
She was a kind, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, canning and quilting.
She is survived by her sons, Larry E. Williams and his wife Crystal, Mike Williams and his wife Marcie, and Tim Williams and his wife Beverly all of Fairmont; her daughters, Cynde Simpkins of Fairmont, and Kelly Osborne and her husband Gary of Farmington; her very special grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Victoria Williams, Jonathan Williams, Ian Williams, Joseph Williams and Annelise Williams, Vanessa Eakin, Whitney Hicks, Tim Williams II, Caleb Williams, Alex Osborne, Brent Osborne and Brielle Osborne; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, John Wright; a daughter, Vicki Sue Williams; and her brother, Charles McDonald.
Friends and family will be received from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Fancher officiating.
Interment services will follow at the Vincent Cemetery on East Grafton Road in Fairmont.
