Elizabeth Phillips

Elizabeth Ann Phillips, 94, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday night (Sept. 5, 2017) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Ethel, on Feb. 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Bori Nagy.
Elizabeth was a longtime member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she was active with the St. Ann Guild, Altar Society and Golden Age Club. She was currently a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She also volunteered for more than 14 years at the Soup Opera.
Elizabeth is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Rosalie Phillips of Fairmont, and one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ken Hart of Wellsburg. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Eric Hart, Jeffrey Hart, Kristopher Hart, Debra Tomlinson, Lisa Fluharty and Chad Phillips. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Joshua Fluharty, Jason Fluharty, Faith Rose Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Savanna Hart, Jeffrey Thomas Hart, Vance Hart, Abbigail Hart, Desirea Santiago, Sarah Tomlinson, Samuel Tomlinson, J.D. Matzno and Shaliz Santiago, and seven great-great-grandchildren, Aubrie Santiago, Jacob Fluharty, Ellira Fluharty, Laylani Fluharty, Anna Beth Fluharty, Aiden Fluharty and Tristan Hunter. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Phillips in 1997; two brothers, Alex Nagy and Paul Nagy; and four sisters, Mary Chase, Rose Egress, Irene Clayton and Margaret Konkley.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
