Edward "Edd"'s Story
Edward "Edd" Louis Abbadini, 71, of Kingmont, passed away at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital June 25, 2018. He was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, to the late August E. Abbadini and Margaret (Malinzak) Abbadini.
He graduated from Fairmont State University and worked as a manager at Kingmill Valley PSD and a coal miner at Gateway Coal Company in Waynesburg. He will be remembered as an avid golfer, a coach of women's softball in Fairmont, for his love of music and for his trips to the Shell station for coffee with friends.
Edd is survived by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Menear and husband, Richard, of Pennsylvania, and Doris Kotermanski, and husband, John, of Kingmont; grandchildren, Rick Menear and wife, Christy, of Pennsylvania; Brooke Ackerman and husband, Jon, of Virginia; Brandi Kotermasnki of Virginia; Jon Katermanski of Arizona; and Brett Kotermanski of Arizona; two great-nephews, and one great-niece.
In keeping with the family's wishes, Edd will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693, and the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, July 13 at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, where a memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Jim Cooley officiating.
