Dorothy Ann McElroy, 64, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 9, 2016) at her home.
She was born June 20, 1952, in Farmington, daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie (DeLuca) Schepis and graduated from Farmington High School in 1970.
She worked as a real estate agent for 15 years and served on the Fairmont Board of Realtors.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Richard. They found all they needed in each other. She is also survived by one son, Jeffrey Hupp, of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Shawna McElroy of Dahlgren, Virginia; a stepson, Jamie McElroy of Fairmont; a nephew, David Schepis; a sister-in-law, JoAn Stemple; her mother-in-law, Mary Travelute; a niece, Dawn McCaulley and her husband Mike; several grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews; and her good friends, Bonnie and Mike McCorkle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David R. Schepis.
Dorothy loved music, birds and sunrise on the beaches of the Outer Banks. She was a kind and gentle soul. If there is a Heaven, she must surely be there.
Cremation has been chosen as her final disposition. A memorial service will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m. Friday with Father S.A. Arokiadass officiating.
