Donald Keith Matheny

Our world lost one of its sweetest and most gentle souls on April 16, 2019, with the sudden passing of Donald "Donnie" Keith Matheny, Jr. as he went to be with his Lord.
Waiting in Heaven were his loving parents Donald and Sandra Yost-Matheny, sisters Cynthia and Susan, paternal grandparents Obie and Nellie Thomas-Matheny, maternal grandfather Mike Yost and step-grandmother Wilma Baker Yost, maternal grandmother Thelma Bender-Yost-Schenovitch and step-grandfather John Schenovitch.
Donnie enjoyed family trips growing up Westminster, MD. "UNIQUE" in his learning style; savant in numbers and autobiographical memories. After graduation, worked and then cared for aging parents; then one day Donnie was alone, "lost with a broken spirit".
Donnie's savant "gifts" haunted him day and night as he recalled past dates and details when young with parents; social service agencies tried to assist, but always restless and his physical health started failing.
Before homeless, Donnie had trendy fashion hair coloring, crisp dress shirts, jeans and cowboy boots and loved driving around town in his big car. Silly humor, he could always make most smile with a quirky saying.
Donnie was "eccentric", compassionate man of great faith "GOD knew him - Donnie knew GOD" and loved outdoor faith-based concerts and attended several churches.
NOT to be remembered for the way he left us! Misfortunes endured were his "loneliness" and "worn-out much-used heart."
"OUR DONNIE" touched hearts and greatly missed as each have our memories and took the role as being his only family".
