Donald L. Arnett, 84, of Fairmont passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2018. He was born in Fairmont on Sept. 19, 1934, a son of the late Victor and Alice Arnett.
Donald graduated from Rivesville High School and served his country in the United States Army. Don retired from Monumental Life Insurance Company after 40 years in the insurance business.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Judith L. Arnett; two sons, Donald L. Arnett II and his wife Ronda and David V. Arnett and his wife Jackie; his daughter, Judith M. Reiner and her husband Donald II, all of Fairmont.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Donald L. Arnett III and his wife Amanda, Shana Howard and her husband Abe, Karl Swiger II and his wife Haley, David V. Arnett II, Ben Swiger and his wife Carrie, Alex Swiger, and Jamie Reiner his great-grandchildren, Layla & Leah Arnett, Brody, Riley, Harper Swiger, Summer Howard, Gracie Swiger and Isiah Reiner; and sister, Dora Jean Arnett, of Rivesville.
Donald was preceded in death by sisters: June Rapp, Joann Spadafore, and Shirley Fetty; and brother, Victor Luther Arnett Jr.
Don was a caring, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family very much. He was loved and will be very much missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don's family is honoring his wishes with cremation. A graveside service will be held at Arnettsville Cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with Pastor Roger Howard officiating.
