Dina Scholl Sampson, 87, passed away Friday (Nov. 3, 2017) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard G. Sampson Jr., and her daughter, Sarah Lee Sampson O'Donnell.
Dina was born in Parkersburg, to John Robert and Fern Phillips Scholl. She graduated from West Virginia University in 1951. She was married to Bernard G. Sampson in 1953 and lived in Fairmont raising their family. Dina had resided in Pawley's Island, South Carolina, for the last decade.
Dina was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairmont, the Junior League, Garden Club and WVU Alumni Association. She was active in civic and charitable affairs. Bernie and Dina were also avid travelers, and enjoyed exploring new cultures.
Dina is survived by her children, Mary Greer Sampson Folds (Michael) of Asheville, North Carolina, Bernard G. Sampson III (Carolyn) of Ninety-Six, South Carolina, Susan Sampson McDade (Doug) of Belmont, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Megan O'Donnell, Laura, Rebecca, and Bernard Sampson "Ben" IV, and Emily Twyman; one great-grandson, Parker Thomas Seevers; and a brother, Phillip Scholl (Sharon) of Parkersburg.
The Cremation Society of Charlotte Inc. is representing the family. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
A memorial service will be held in Pawley's Island, South Carolina and in Fairmont at a later date.
