Denzil C. Wilson
Denzil grew up in Daybrook and graduated from Clay-Battelle High School, where he played football and basketball. Upon graduation he began his career as a coal miner and retired from the mines in 1991. On August 20, 1949 he married Dolores Jean Walls Wilson and moved to Fairview where he lived until his death.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jean; his brothers and sisters: Earl, Arley, Stephen, Earnest, Elza Wilson, Pearlie Moore, Sarah Tennant, Garland Brookover, Charlotte Howard, Mary Jones; and an infant son, Kenneth Denzil.
He is survived by daughters Deborah Wilson of Fairview, Deanna Ayers and husband Robert of Shinnston, and a four legged daughter Abbie; one sister-in-law, Mary Walls; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Denzil was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Basnettville, WV.
The family will receive visitors at St. Johns United Methodist Church, in Basnettsville, Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Duane Styles officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
