Delores Ann "Momma D" (Wilson) Whitecotton Ferrell, 80, of Fairmont, passed away suddenly Friday (Aug. 18, 2017).
She was born Dec. 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Clarence E. Wilson and Ina (Day) Wilson.
Born and raised in the Norway community, Delores was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Alden Nolen Ferrell and Theodore "Junior" Whitecotton.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children and their significant others, Debbie Hickman, Donna and Jack Eddy, Clarence Whitecotton, Tonya Campbell, Tina and Mike Brotosky, Claude Whitecotton, Sara Glover, Michael and Nancy Whitecotton and Alley and Felicia Clayton; 36 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her brothers, sisters and their spouses, who affectionally called her "Dee," Wanda and Donnie Barnes, Judy and Ed Holcomb, Edna Kropp, Bernice and Larry Rota, Connie Rota, Aretta and Terry Barker, Shirley and Floyd Wilkins, Audrey White, Jeanie Green, Joe and Debbie Wilson, Bill and Brenda Wilson, Claude and Holly Wilson, Bernard and Rhonda Wilson, Rick and Kim Wilson, Hoppy and Pee Wee Wilson and Iva Ann Echols.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Delores was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Whitecotton; a brother, Clarence Junior Wilson; a son-in-law, Jim Hickman; brothers-in-law, Bill Kropp, Sal Rota, Bob White, Harold Wilson and Jim Green; and two infant grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Kay Lake officiating. Interment will follow at the Montana Mines Cemetery.
