Dallas Eugene Haun Jr., 87, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, passed away Feb. 7, 2017.
A 32nd-degree Master Mason, he was a proud member of Scottish Rite Freemasonry for over 60 years. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a bachelor's degree in psychology. An avid reader and traveler, his journeys took him to destinations from Alaska to Belize, London and French Polynesia. His civic activities included serving as a district chairman for the Michigan Republican Party and as an alternate delegate to the national convention in 1984.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he and his son were present in standing room at Forbes Field when the Pirates beat the Yankees in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series on Bill Mazeroski's legendary home run in the ninth inning.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte; his three children, Faye, Dallas III (Michelle) and India (John); and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Faye and Dallas IV.
A private burial service will take place at the Catawba Cemetery in Catawba.
Those wishing to donate are requested to make donations to their favorite charity.
