Cynthia Ann Mycynoicz Ice, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (Dec. 3, 2017) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born in Marion County, on Aug. 9, 1943, daughter of the late Walter Andrew and Ann Savich Mycynoicz.
Cynthia graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing as a registered nurse with high honors. She enjoyed a long career in skilled nursing care. Her career included work at Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, Ruby Memorial Hospital, Fairmont Clinic and St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home. Cynthia loved her profession and always demonstrated a high level of professionalism and loving care to all she served.
Cynthia left us with the idea that she had only slipped away and whatever we were to each other, we still are. She wanted to be called by her old familiar name and to speak of her in the easy way that her friends and family always did. Her greatest joy in life was her two daughters and granddaughter. Cynthia was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Michele Ice and granddaughter Samantha Ice; her sister, Connie Prendergast and husband Ed of Lewisburg; and her nieces and their families, Cheri Hall and husband Case of Lewisburg, Lori Doolittle and husband Bret and son Emmit of Hillsboro.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia is preceded in death by her daughter, Natasha Ice.
In keeping with Cynthia's wishes, there will be no viewing. She requested only a private graveside service. Donations may be made in Cynthia's memory to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont.
Condolences may be sent to the family to www.rossfh.com.
