Corrine Ann Shaffer, 77, of Frederick, Maryland formerly of Fairmont passed from this life on Sunday (March 19, 2017) surrounded by her family at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, Maryland.
Born on July 13, 1939, in Fairmont, she was the daughter of her late parents Nicola "Nick" and Helen Mary (Colarusso) Marchesani.
Corrine worked as a hair dresser in Janice's Beauty Shop in downtown Frederick for many years. She later became a human resource representative and then an administrator for GEICO, North American Housing Corporation, Frederick County National Bank, BB&T and Vintage Lumber prior to retiring in 2002.
She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, kindness, and her laughter.
Corrine was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and the Walkersville Rescue Co. 24.
She is survived by her beloved son Michael James Marchesani, his wife Lisa Marie and grandchildren Mikayla Kristin and Morgan Marie Marchesani all of Walkeersville, Maryland. She is also survived by one brother, Donald "Donnie" Marchesani and his wife Ann; and their children Nicholas Marchesani, and Stephine Walker all of Fairmont. She also has many cousins with whom she shared very special relationships.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Mary Marchesani. She leaves behind very special friends Angie Abrecht, Patty Rice, Sis Miller, Sandy Quong, Travis Brice, Sandy Brandon and Bernice Brown.
Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, Maryland. A celebration of Corrine's life journey will take place 11 a.m today at St. Timothy's Catholic church in Walkersville, Maryland.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at the Ross Funeral Home. 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont. Interment will follow the viewing at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont.
