Connie Mae Moore Stewart, 68, of Fairmont, passed away Dec. 8, 2016 at the Mapleshire Nursing Facility in Morgantown.
She was born Jan. 5, 1948, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Nimrod L. and Aileen Michael Moore.
Connie was a 1965 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School, as well as a graduate of Webster Business College.
She was a member of the Oakwood Road Church of Christ. Connie retired from the Fairmont City Police Department with more than 15 years of service as the records clerk.
She was a member of the Core Community Builders in Core. Connie loved her grandchildren and attending their various activities.
Connie is survived by her children, Roger and his wife Kelley Stewart of Hurricane, Rodney and his wife Jann Stewart of Fairmont, Cherin Stewart of Fairmont, and Julie and her husband Jason England of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Tiernie, Haley and Braden Stewart, Benjamin and Maxwell Stewart, Steven, Malichi and Reese Stewart and Mason, Maya and Bailee England; her siblings, Dick Moore and Ronda of Fairmont, Ron Moore and Carmen of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rob and his wife Robin Moore of Fairmont; nieces and nephews, Chad and Adam Pethtel, Ryann Moore, Gia Colanero, Donovan Stewart, Alex Mullins, Colin Lyman, Tara Hildt, and Taylor and Adam Smith; her sisters-in-law, Donna and Fred Mullins of Charleston, Elaine MidKiff of Columbia, South Carolina, and Janet and her husband Dan Smith, of Charlottesville, Virginia; as well as her close friend, Lowell Batten of Calhoun County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Jack Pethtel, as well as her former husband, Roger Paul Stewart.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. today, noon until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
