Coletta Jo Jarvis

Coletta Jo Jarvis completed her journey home on June 4, 2019. She was the daughter of late Louis and Eleanor (Jiles) Moroose. She was born September 16, 1939 in Fairmont, WV.
Coletta is survived by her daughters Lisa Jarvis, Beth Jarvis Lane and son-in-law Philip Lane. She is also survived by her brother Mark Louis Moroose and sister-in-law Mariam Cimino Moroose; her grandchildren, Garrett Watkins (Lisa), Meredith Watkins (Lisa), Christopher Lane (Beth) and Justin Orozco (Beth); nephews and nieces, Ryan & Heather Moroose, Justin & Molly Moroose, Rod Cunningham, Stephen Cunningham, Darla Cunningham; several great nieces, nephews and many cousins; and the best ever lifelong friends and companions.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her former husband of 26 years, Richard "Dick" Jarvis; in-laws, Frank Jarvis and Virginia Snyder Jarvis; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Jarvis (Cunningham) Roberts.
She was a proud graduate of the East Fairmont High School Class of 1957, and was also a member of the Central Christian Church of Fairmont, WV. During her career, Coletta served passionately as designer, buyer and decorator for more than 40 years at Penn Furniture Store in Fairmont, WV, her parent's family owned business. She then moved to Greenville, SC where she held the position and retired from the Stein Mart Store as a designer, merchandiser and customer service specialist for 13 years before returning home to Fairmont, WV.
There was no limit to her vast love of entertaining, cooking & baking for others (well known for her pies), walking her dog "Molly", gardening, reading, playing cards with friends, working puzzles, collecting shells on the beach, writing beautiful notes and sending cards to all she loved (Hallmark would have been lucky to have her) and most of all, relishing every moment of her two daughters, family & friends lives. She was an angel on loan from God...selfless, kind, generous, loving, positive, humble,
compassionate...always putting others first. She was known most for her gentle spirit and adorable sense of humor. She left an indelible mark on everyone and everything she touched.
A visitation from 1-4:00 P.M. followed by a "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Ave. Fairmont, WV.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Marion County Humane Society c/o P.O. Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26554 or call 304-366-5391.

Daddy and I were so very sorry to hear about Coletta passing. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We have so many great memories of our families spending time together. Whether hanging out while our parents were playing cards, camping in Morefield or just visiting you all, we were always family! When I married, Coletta gave me a brass pitcher, which I still have, and said “Years from now you won’t remember who gave you sheets but you’ll always remember I gave you that pitcher”. She was right, always see it and smile thinking of her. Know she holds a special place in our hearts.
