Clyde Eugene Duley, Sr.


Clyde Eugene Duley, Sr., 80 of Bull Run Road, Morgantown passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Clyde was born in Maryland on May 20, 1939, son to Clyde H. Duley and Josephine Uphold Duley. Clyde was a retired member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 152 with 42 years of service. Clyde was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years.
He was a member of the Joseph W. Summers Lodge No. 173, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and the Osiris Temple, AAONMS, Wheeling, WV. He loved the outdoors, hunting from the seat of his tractor, camping, and fishing. He enjoyed tending his garden and spending time with family. He was quite the storyteller and was quick with a joke. Recently, he was very proficient with his tablet and especially playing games of solitaire. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and family.
Clyde is survived by two sons, Clyde E. Duley, Jr., and wife Elaina and Michael Ray Duley and family, all of Morgantown; grandchildren Mallory Ann Willink and husband Jeffrey of Fort Mill, SC and Nicholas Eugene Duley of Morgantown. Also, surviving are sisters, Mary Lou Posey, Judy Wise, Peggy Sue Adams, and Joanne Bean all of Morgantown; his 'brother' Clyde and wife Donna Miller of Virginia Beach, VA; his companion Nancy Strang and his beloved canine, Annie.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde H. and Josephine Duley; his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Ann Duley; brother, Jerry Duley and three sisters, Betty Duley, Barbara Toothman and Nancy Jane Gallagher.
Friends may call at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until time of services at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to offer their gratitude to the nurses and aides on the 5th Floor of Mon Health Medical Center and Morgantown Hospice for the care given over the last several months.
