Charolette Lorraine (Dillow) Martin, 72, of Fairmont, passed away on Monday (Aug. 28, 2017) at her home.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1944, in the Millersville Community, a daughter of the late Walter Dillow and Opal Marie (Thayer) Dillow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Marty" Ray Martin, in August of 2003.
Charolette was a cook in several Fairmont restaurants for several years, including Poky Dot, K&T Truck Stop and for many years the Fairmont Grill on Adams Street. She was an accomplished seamstress, who enjoyed sewing since childhood.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Martin and his wife Debra, and their children Allen "Mikey," Miranda, Jerry, Levi, Max and Jackson; and two daughters, Robin and Joyce, and their children Adam, Stacie, Cody, Jerad, Guss and Chelsey.
She is also survived by two brothers, Sam Dillow of Maine and James Dillow and his wife Alice of Meadowbrook; a sister, Roberta Westfall and her husband Rick of Statesville, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Flora Adkins of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Helen Dillow.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charolette was preceded in death by her brothers Richard, Harold, George and Ralph Dillow, and a sister, Virginia Dillow Gross.
Mrs. Martin's family would like to thank the staff of West Virginia Caring for their care and support.
Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. Family and friends will go in procession from the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to Grandview Memorial Gardens for a graveside funeral service with Flora Adkins officiating. Mrs. Martin will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
