Charles's Story

Charles Ross Toothman, 77, of Fairmont, passed from this life Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at his home under Hospice care after a long illness. He was born in Baxter, on Oct. 9, 1940, a son of the late Brutus H. and Annie Olive King Toothman.
He worked as a mechanic for the City of Fairmont for 21 years. He was a Vietnam veteran of the US Army. He had a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bird-watching and sitting out by his fire pit. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.
Mr. Toothman is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Thelma Bennett Toothman; two daughters and sons-in-law Alice (Richard) Cremeans and Brinda (David) McCaulley both of Fairmont and one brother William L. Toothman of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Warren J. Toothman three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m.-12:30 Friday at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont. His service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the US Army and the Grafton Honor Guard.
