Charles's Story

Charles Ray Spencer, 62, of Eldora, passed away Saturday (Oct. 15, 2016) at his home.
He was a son of the late Edward and Mabel (Pritt)Spencer of Horner's Run.
He was a truck driver for Jones Trucking Co. in Saltwell. He enjoyed gardening and fishing along with anything that was outdoors. He had a great sense of humor and was known as a real jokester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Penelope (Penny) Spencer; a son, Christopher Joseph Spencer; a sister, Janie Hayhurst; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Glaspell.
He is survived by his daughter, Carrie White and son-in-law, William (Bill) White of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Emelie Spencer of Florida, Christopher Spencer and Corie Davis of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Sierra and Naython White of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Jackson and Serena Carpenter of Florida; sisters, Mary Ann Glaspell of Boothsville, and Cathy Glaspell and brother-in-law, Roger Glaspell; two daughters-in-law, Cathy Abdullah of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Sally Plum of Colfax; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Middletown Community Center followed by a dinner provided by Cherokee Catering.
