Charles "Eddie" Anderson

Charles "Eddie" Anderson, 96, of Fairmont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday (June 5, 2017) at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1920, at Kodol in Wetzel County, the only child of the late Fred Anderson and Vera Marie (Hudson) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S, Army as a Technician Fourth Grade with the 2nd Battalion, 357th Infantry, seeing action in Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He worked for 40 years at the Owens-Illinois glass plant in Fairmont as a machinist. He was a member of the Fairmont First Church of the Nazarene.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Kathy Jo Hypes of Bridgeport, and Nancy Vincent and her husband Paul of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Denise DeBellis and her husband Bobby of Fairmont, and Paul David Vincent and his wife Dawn of Fairmont; and three great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Hypes, and his wives, Josephine Arnett, June Doolittle and Ona Erdie.
Friends and family will be received from 1-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike VanZant officiating. Interment services will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
