Cerelle's Story

Cerelle (Riblett) Gregg, 107, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 26 2017, at Inspired Living at Hidden Lakes in Bradenton, Florida.
She was born May 2, 1910, in Shinnston, the daughter of the late John Ceymour and Ora (Thorne) Riblett.
Cerelle was chosen as Miss Shinnston of 1929 and competed as a representative of West Virginia in beauty contest in Texas.
Cerelle worked as a secretary for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Washington, D.C. She moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1978. She was Christian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Gregg; two brothers, Victor T. Riblett of Ellenton, Florida, and Junior S. Riblett of Shinnston.
Cerelle is survived by her family and friends.
Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Delores White officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston.
