Catherine's Story

Catherine Ruth "Aunt Cass" Willis, 78, of Fairmont, passed from this life Friday (Nov. 18, 2016), in her home with her loving family by her side, following a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born in National Park, New Jersey, on May 26, 1938, a daughter of the late Willis Hunt and Dorothy Elizabeth Cranston Reeve.
Aunt Cass was a homemaker and had briefly worked in the housekeeping department of the Fairmont Hotel. She was Methodist by faith.
She enjoyed playing bingo and following NASCAR, especially Matt Kenseth, was an avid West Virginia University football and basketball fan, and she loved animals, especially her grand- and great-grand puppies.
Mrs. Willis is survived by her five children, her daughters, Catherine V. and David B. Kittle, Carolyn R. Keener and her friend William Dulin, and Marion "Sugar" and Harrison Hunter all of Fairmont; her sons Edward L.C. Willis Jr. and his companion Dolly Cole of Rivesville and Lewis E. and Donna Willis of Fairmont; three brothers, James H. Reeve of Maple Shade, New Jersey, Walter W. (Marge) Reeve of Blackwood, New Jersey, and Wellington O. (Marge) Reeve of National Park; five grandchildren, Misty, Mia, Brandi, Kayla and David E.; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her canine family, Paco, Bella and Bentley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Edward Lewis Caleb Willis, on Aug. 10, 1988; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine and Charles Schweigart and Marion and Jack Slain; one sister-in-law, Kimi Reeve; also one grandson, Michael Willis.
Catherine's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home at: Frey Home for Funerals, P.O. Box 895, Fairmont, WV 26555.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont. Services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. today with the Rev. Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at the Clermont Cemetery.
