The family of Blanche H. (Wierbonski) Janicki said their goodbyes Monday (Jan. 8, 2018) to their much-loved mother and grandmother. Blanche passed surrounded by family.
Blanche was the daughter of the late Vita and Josephine (Kuneziuski) Wierbonski of Fairmont. She was born Sept. 28, 1918, and was 99 years young.
Blanche worked at Owens for over 37 years until it closed in 1980, which allowed her to enjoy her next chapter in life that would be becoming a grandma to her six grandchildren over the next several years. She also enjoyed in her retirement years playing bingo and spending time with her children. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ben Mancino; two sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Annie Janicki and James and Amy Janicki, all of Fairmont; six grandchildren, James Janicki, Jr., Jacob Janicki of Fairmont, Joanna Janicki Coster and her husband Ryan of North Carolina, Rusty Mancino of Pennsylvania, Michael Mancino and Shenna Mancino, both of Fairmont; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Isabella; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Janicki; three brothers, John, Adam and Steven Wierbonski; and her sister, Lucielle Wierbonski.
The family would like to thank the staff at John Manchin Senior Health Care for the care which was given to Mom and especially thank her girls that gave her that special love and extra attention, Lindsey, Casey, Rita and Nurse Kim. Also, special thanks to Sister Stella for her support for Blanche and her family.
Honoring Blanche's requests, a private service for immediate family only will be held.
Arrangements are under the care of Domico Funeral Home.
