Billy Gene Nestor, 89, of Fairmont, Mount Harmony Community, passed away on Thursday (Sept. 14, 2017) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Tucker County, on Dec. 31, 1927, a son of the late Clarence Virgil Nestor and Lucille Lorriane (Losh) Nestor.
Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Lois Jane (Klems) Nestor.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Billy was a hard worker. He worked in construction and projects for his friends and family. He was a member of Mount Harmony Community Church. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Nestor of Fairmont, Jason M. Nestor of Fairmont and Elmer M. Nestor and his wife Candace of Idaho; his daughter, Linda Given and her husband Donald; his grandchildren, Heather King, Holly Statler, Kenny Nestor, Rachel Rector, Donnie Given, Gina Garia and Alicia Willabee; and his great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jamie, Julian, Hayle, Bailey, Colton, Kameron and Aaron.
Also surviving are two brothers, Rex Nestor and Dewey A. "Butch" Nestor; several caring nieces and nephews; and his very close friend, Barbara Kisner.
In addition to his parents and wife, Billy was preceded in death by three brothers, John Wayne Nestor, James Nestor and Jack Nestor; his sisters, Wanda Harsh, Betty Layman, Peggy Slider and Shiela Loeffelbein; and two nephews, Brian Nestor and Donnie Nestor.
Family and friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ruth Hall officiating. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Valley Cemetery.
Flag-folding military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Marion County Military Veterans Council Honor Guard.
