Beverly Jean Feathers, 68, of Worthington, passed away Thursday (Jan. 18, 2018). She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, June 13, 1949, a daughter of the late Michael and Eileen Merrin Sogan. On June 3, 1967, she married David Curtis Feathers, Jr. who preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2015.
Surviving are one son, Michael Feathers and his wife Lori, Shinnston; Melissa Willis and her husband Shawn, Idamay; six grandchildren, Tasha Wilcox and her husband Cory, Clarksburg, Tiffany Feathers and her companion Vinny DeMarco, Shinnston, Tara Feathers and her companion Jon Walls, Shinnston, Curtis Feathers and his fiancé Tyra Tomaro, Shinnston, and Bryson and Camdon Willis, Idamay; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Gibson, Owen Wilcox, and Ethan Tomaro. She is also survived by her sisters, Carleen Foder and her husband Jim, Scio, Ohio, and Lorraine Reese and her husband Steve, Carrolton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Elsie Feathers.
Beverly was a special education teacher at several different schools in Harrison County. She received her bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College and later earned her master's degree plus 45 from Marshall University. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 929, Shinnston, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 31, Shinnston, where she was a past president. She enjoyed working with children and vacationing with her husband. Her favorite getaway was Disney World. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor Kevin Nuzum officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Enterprise.
