Betty Vivian Michael, 89, of Clarksburg, formerly of Monongah, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2017) at the Glenville Center.
She was born Oct. 17, 1928 in Bridgeport to the late Albert and Veda Michael Conwell.
Betty is survived by her sister, Jean Taylor of Ocean City, Maryland; son, Roy Duane Michael; grandchildren, Michelle Michael, Jay Michael and Misty Michael, all of Farmington; and niece, Judy Cornwell-Colvin and her husband Gene of Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Don F. Conwell and David L. Conwell.
Betty was a devout Christian. She was a 1946 Rivesville High graduate. Betty was the secretary and treasurer of her senior class. She was also her class valedictorian. Betty worked at a Girl Reserve School. She also over the years worked for The West Virginian.
A private graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Cindy Boggs officiating.
