Bernice Juanita Cain, 86, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 22, 2018. She was born July 26, 1931 to Clarence and Lena Flanigan in Katy Lick.
She is a graduate of Lumberport High School in 1950 in Lumberport. Bernice was active in the Olmsted Falls Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices within the chapter including worthy matron. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family, reading her Bible, cooking for family and listening to gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Arza Clyde Cain; her parents, Clarence and Lena Flanigan; and beloved mother-in-law, Grace Mariah Cain.
She is survived by her children, Stephen of Olmsted Township and Dahnella (Chuck) Brown of South Point, Ohio; grandchildren, Stephen Jr. of Shelbyville, Tennessee, James (Aubrey) of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Graceanna (Perry) Austin of Henderson, Kentucky, Sandra Cain of LaGrange, Ohio, Ashley (Carrie) Smith-Elza, Bethany, Jennings, Cassandra, and Kyle Smith of South Point, Ohio, CJ and Joey Brown of Cabin Creek; and great-grandchildren, Callan, Leah, Kailyn and Kannon. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward (Janis) Flanigan of Clarksburg, Ronald of Haywood, and James (Debbie) of Lumberport as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today at the Sarrietta Church, Poplar Island Drive, Colfax, and 6-9 p.m. at the Huston Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington. The Mannington Augusta Chapter #6 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Enterprise IOOF Cemetery.
