Alice B. Karnes, 73, of Fairmont, was called to heaven on Monday (Feb. 27, 2017) at the Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided for several years.
She was born in Charleston, on April 12, 1943, to the late Owen and Elma (Bodkins) Huffman. She was a Baptist by faith and loved her entire family very much.
Alice enjoyed watching detective shows, being outdoors, visiting parks with her grandchildren, doing lawn work and socializing with family and friends. She was a former CNA in the Charleston area and a homemaker here in Fairmont.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica (Michael) Reynolds of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Alan) McBroom, Corrine Huffman and Jade Huffman all of North Carolina; one sister, Cindy Skibba of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three stepsons; three stepdaughters; and eight step-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Karnes, on June 4, 2004; her brothers, Kenna and Fred Huffman; and her sisters, Carol Hite, Linda Elkins and Mary Huffman.
Alice had chosen cremation as her method of final disposition. Services will be announced and held at a later date.
