Alex J. Nagy

Alex J. Nagy, 90, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (June 4, 2017) at Bridgeport Health Care Center.
He was born on June 28, 1926, in Ethel, son of the late Alex and Mary Bori Nagy.
Alex retired after 43 years from Eastern Association Coal Co. Federal No. 1 Mine, and was a member of the UMWA District 31. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Alex was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family.
Alex is survived by his wife, Lena Turney Nagy, and his three children and their spouses, James A. and Julie Nagy of Charleston, Janet and Sam Pellerite of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Joseph A. and Kim Nagy of Morgantown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole Pellerite Rinehart, Samantha Pellerite Watkins, Lauren Nagy, Alexa Nagy, Tyler Nagy and Ali Nagy. He is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Phillips of Bellview, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Nagy, and four sisters, Mary Chase, Rose Egress, Irene Clayton and Margaret Conkly.
In keeping with Alex's wishes, he will be cremated, and a private family service will be at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont.
