Agnes's Story

Text size

Agnes Faye Davis Guiseppe, 96, of Morgantown, went home to be with the Lord Monday (Aug. 21, 2017) at the Morgantown HR.
Agnes was born in Winding Gulf on Dec. 11, 1920 to the late Joe Davis and Mary Etta Davenport Davis.
Agnes spent her early years helping her mother raise her 11 siblings. At the age of 20, she went to secretarial school in Fairmont. Following her schooling at the age of 21, she met our father at a weekly social dance. They fell in love and were married on Feb. 18, 1942. On Oct. 13, 1942 they welcomed their first-born daughter Shirley Ann. Donna Mae, Mary Frances and Kenny Jr. "Butchie" followed soon after.
Agnes was a devoted wife and a loving mother. After raising her children, she worked outside of the home at Hecks. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing the piano, but most of all she read her bible and spread the word of God. She was fiercely devoted to her faith and attended the HOPE Church and was actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary.
Agnes is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Smith of Morgantown, Donna Collins and her husband Gary of San Jose, California and Fran Post and her husband Eddie of Morgantown; her son, Kenneth Guiseppe Jr. and his wife Trudy; grandchildren, Sheila Marie Livengood, Michael Christopher Smith, Edward Alan Smith, Christopher James Collins and Kendra Ann Coombs; great-grandchildren, Kenneth "Corey" Guiseppe, Cody Michael Smith, Keeton Michael Coombs and Kobi Coombs; brothers, Carl Davis and his wife Phyllis of Charleston and Jerry Davis of Van; a brother-in-law, John Cusimano; and a sister-in-law, Sue Davis.
In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Guiseppe; sisters, Pearl Cusimano, Mary Helen Woods, Clara Mae Cooke and her husband Edward and Halla Sutphen; brothers, Floyd "Boots" Davis and his wife Mary Frances, Guy Davis and his wife Betty, Arthur "Ott" Davis, Jody Davis and his wife Phyllis and Ellis Davis.
Friends are invited to gather in support of the family from 10 a.m. until the funeral at noon Friday at McCulla Funeral Home with Pastors Allen and Joseph Donham officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
